ABOUT THE HOLY DISTRICT

ABOUT THE HOLY DISTRICT

OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of the Holy District is to inspire people across a spectrum of belief and non-belief to rediscover the sacredness of the spaces they inhabit. The Holy District envisages all of Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton as a place where the reign of God is breaking in. A region where God is moving into desecrated spaces to bring healing and restoration—to individuals, neighborhoods, and communities.

OUR AFFIRMATIONS

The importance of the integrated life.
The goodness of creation.
The very goodness of humanity.
The power of community.
The all-times-and-all-places healing holiness of God.
The way of Jesus.
The Holy District is part of the Brethren in Christ, U.S. family. To learn more about this denomination’s values, visit here.

ERICKA HENRY

NEIGHBORHOOD PASTOR

As a church planter and pastor for eight years, Ericka has had the opportunity to walk alongside others as a student of their experiences. Over the years, God has been continually expanding her vision of his heart for Jesus-centered community and relationships, which led her to Allentown, Pennsylvania in the Spring of 2019 to found the Holy District.
Ericka’s passion and pastoral focus is providing Jesus-looking spiritual nurture and communal leadership in her neighborhood through peacemaking, partnership and service. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Greenville University, Ericka went on to pursue her Master of Arts in Theology with an emphasis in Biblical Languages from Fuller Theological Seminary, where she graduated in Spring of 2018.
She currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor at Multnomah University, but is sure to find time for some of her favorite activities with friends and family. If she isn’t on a walk with her husband, Blake, and their two dogs, Sam and Spock, you can almost certainly find her relaxing with a good book. Ericka is no stranger to travelling, and has so far visited Egypt, Israel-Palestine, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria. She hopes to visit many more countries to experience and learn from their history and culture in the years to come!
